Breve descrizione dei contenuti:
The results of our epidemiological analysis show that the age-adjusted mortality rate for lung cancer in the US decreased gradually but intermittently over time, from 56.07 (95%CI, 55.79 to 56.35) in 1999 to 30.05 (95% CI, 29.88 to 30.21) in 2022. This downward trend was partially interrupted in the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic, but then declined again in 2022. Overall, the age-adjusted mortality rate fell by 45.8% during the entire study period. These results suggest that innovative therapies combined with early diagnosis may have had an impact on lung cancer as mortality in the United States has decreased by nearly 50% in the last 24 years.
