Progetto PRIN nanoHERCULES

  dal 22/04/26 al 28/02/27

BANDO PRIN 2022

Title: nanoparticles for HERitage and CULture in Environmental Sustainability
Acronym: nanoHERCULES
Participants University of Verona: Nicola Daldosso, Francesco Enrichi e Guillerme C. Concas
Leading Institution: Ca’ Foscari University, Venice
Funding: Ministero Università e Ricerca (PRIN2022JESYNS)
Period of activity: 24 months from February 7, 2025 to February 6, 2027

KEY POINTS OF THE PROJECT
→ Development of alkaline earth hydroxides and metal oxide nanoparticles for the conservation of cultural heritage
INNOVATIVE SYNTHESIS: sustainable, scalable, high-yield, in water, at room
temperature and without chemical additives
APPLICATION :
- on historic stone and buildings
- on cellulose artifacts for consolidation and protection
MULTIPLE FEATURES: consolidation + antimicrobial and antifungal properties
(addition of zinc and copper oxides)

Objectives
IN SYNTHESIS IMPROVEMENT
• ONE-STEP SUSTAINTABLE PROCESS
• “GREEN ROUTE”
