Abstract
Real-time visualization of large datasets remains a central challenge in modern computer graphics. Massive models—such as terrains, point clouds, volumetric data, and tractography — often exceed the limits of available hardware resources. Output-sensitive rendering techniques, combined with out-of-core memory
management, are essential to achieve real-time performance under such constraints. This seminar presents multi-resolution and out-of-core strategies for the interactive exploration of large and time-varying volumetric datasets. We will then focus on novel approaches for the real-time visualization of integrated 3D brain models, enabling efficient inspection of massive tractograms through flexible, combinable user-driven selections.
